"Macho Man" Randy Savage - Speaking from the Heart

WWE Signs Mexican Star Mistico!

According to http://wrestlingattitude.com/, WWE has signed EMLL/New Japan Wrestling star Mistico. The lucha star has had several tryout matches in the past, but finally signed a deal this past Tuesday. Personally I'm exited because I think he's an incredible talent. He will likely report to FCW(developmental) shortly.

Big C's Weekly Thoughts

Well folks, it's only two days until the Royal Rumble! My favorite day of the entire year! Anticipation has been building for me all week. It started with a solid episode of Raw. I thought last week's episode was a little stronger, but I thought it still kept the momentum strong heading into the Rumble.

My only beef with Raw this week was the booking. I don't like the idea of having the WWE Champion vs the World Champion on a free TV program. The match itself was entertaining, but I think it's silly to have them wrestle for free when that could possibly be a big draw for the company someday. I also thought the Cena/Nexus/Corre(worst stable name ever!) main event was lame! This angle just won't die! I was really hoping this was just going to be a Cena vs Punk feud. Again, I'm really not sure why they even bother with a brand extension anymore. On the plus side, not even Mark Henry could ruin a good tag team match betwean Henry & John Morrison vs Sheamus & Alberto Del Rio. I also really enjoyed the match betwean Melina and Natalya for the Divas Title. Yes, you read that right! I can't stand Melina, but the match had a great finish where Natalya bends Melina right in half with the Sharpshooter! I'm not sure how I feel about the "romantic angle" betwean Daniel Bryan and Gail Kim, but as long as it gets them both more TV time I'm all for it. Like I said, I thought last week's episode was better, but I still enjoyed this week's for the most part.

I caught about half of TNA's Impact this week. I won't spend much time talking about it because it's not worth my time! The show was headlined by Matt Hardy vs Mr. Anderson(Ken Kennedy), and had the return of Scott Steiner. Enough said!
Yes folks, this guy was in the main event! Samoa Joe, D'Angello Dinero, Desmond Wolfe, etc. are basically inactive, while this joker gets a main event match. You tell me what's wrong with TNA?

On a more positive note, I heard some very good news today!

Stone Cold Steve Austin is returning to the WWE! It's just too bad it's to host Tough Enough. I may actually have to watch it now. Stone Cold should be entertaining anyway. At least it's better than Al Snow!

I'm currently watching Smackdown as I finish off my entry here. So far, it has been a good episode. There hasn't been anything major happen, but I think they're doing a pretty good job in hyping the Royal Rumble. I think Teddy Long "who done it?" angle is very lame, but so far it's only been mentioned once.

Remember folks, Sunday night on PPV, it's the Royal Rumble! This is always my favorite wrestling event of the year. I usually enjoy it even more than Wrestlemania!  I will be heading to my man CA's house with hopes of winning the annual draw for the first time. I will have a full report on my thoughts as soon as I can.

Big C's Royal Rumble Predictions

Well folks, the time is near! The Royal Rumble is this Sunday, and if you've been following on here you'll know that it is my favorite PPV of the year. It usually sets the tone for how exited I get for Wrestlemania aswell. For the folks who don't watch a lot of wrestling, I'll go over the premise of the Rumble PPV. The main event is usually a 30 man over the top rope match(this year it's 40), where the winner gets a World Title match at Wrestlemania. This is really the kick off to the hot season for wrestling!
Now for my predictions:
Natalya vs Laycool - Diva's Title Match
Winner: Laycool
I have a feeling that Natty's title run is coming to end. I think WWE is going to want Laycool in a promenent position heading into Wrestlemania. I've enjoyed her title, cus I think she's the best in-ring worker in the diva's division right now. I would love to a Natalya vs Beth Phoenix Wrestlemania match.
Edge vs Dolph Ziggler - World Heavyweight Title Match
Winner: Edge
Unfortunately there's no chance Ziggler will win the belt. Atleast not yet. I'm a big fan of Ziggler's, but he's just not ready to be a main eventer yet. It's a shame. I'm sick of Edge, and wouldn't mind seeing someone else main event 'Mania, but I can't see them puting that much faith in Ziggler yet.
The Miz vs Randy Orton - WWE Heavyweight Title
Winner: The Miz
I don't see this title changing hands either. I think The Miz will be the champion heading into Wrestlemania. I heard rumors of Orton taking some time off, so maybe they will have an angle to write him out for a while. I doubt he'll be gone long, cus he's not likely going to want to miss Wrestlemania.
The Royal Rumble Match
Winner: John Morrison
I was not exactly enthused when I heard they were making it a 40 man Royal Rumble this year, but it really dosn't matter too much. I'm still very much looking forward to Sunday. They have done a great job of keeping me guesing this year. There are 4-5 guys that I think have a legit shot at winning it this year. Alberto Del Rio winning wouldn't shock me, but I think a returning Christian may foil his plans, and start a program. Cm Punk, Wade Barrett, John Cena, none of them would be a shock either. I think we'll see the return of HHH in the Rumble, and I think he'll make an impact. I think the Undertaker will also make an apperance, possibly to start a program with Wade Barrett. Maybe it's just wishfull thinking on my part, but I think Morrison makes the most sense. They've been building him up for a while now, and they're in desperate need of new stars. A Rumble win would solidify him at the top of the card. Him and Miz already have a storried feud, and are capable of delivering a memerable match.

Big C's Weekly Thoughts

It's that time of week again folks. Sorry I missed last week, but I had a busy weekend. The Royal Rumble is one week from tomorrow, and my exitement is growing with every day! I am not exactly thrilled that they have made it a 40-man Rumble this year. I don't really like when they mess with tradition, especially when it comes to the Rumble. This is the one sure thing they have that I will enjoy, almost no matter what. Still, I'm very exited for the festivities. I've touched on it before, but every year for the Rumble I head to my good friend Curtis's place to watch it. We draw numbers, with a small wager. I'm yet to win, but I'm hoping to get my name on the Anderson Cup(jar) for the first time this year!
I thought Raw this past Monday was incredible! It had good wrestling! That's all I need. I thought Daniel Bryan vs John Morrison was great, and Dolph Ziggler vs Randy Orton was a solid match aswell. John Cena vs CM Punk was a very solid main event too. I really hope that they keep this feud heading into Wrestlemania. They sorta teased a Miz/Cena feud, which is fine, but I just wanna see Punk get the push he diserves.
Smackdown on the other hand let me down. I thought last week's was a great show, but this week's was so-so at best. I thoughtt the whole "who don it?" angle on Teddy Long was lame. It's been done so many times, and it just took away from other important matches on the show(Del Rio vs R-Truth).  Also, The Corre? Really? That's the best name you can come up with? I wonder who allowed Heath Slater to hae a mic! Wow, what a train wreck of a stable! Then there is the Drew McCentyre/Kelly Kelly storyline. These 2 are less natural than Dibiase and Maryse! There was not much on the show I did like, other than I enjoyed Cody Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio. I enjoy Rhodes, and I think he is due for an IC title run soon.
Stay tuned. Later tonight I will post my predictions for the Royal Rumble.

Big C's Weekly Thoughts

Sorry for the lack of posts this week folks. I've been away on busisness. Fortunately I had the chance to catch both Raw, and Smackdown though. I'm glad I did! It was a good week of WWE action. I missed Impact this week, but it's not something I'm too woried about. I had a look today at the line up for TNA's ppv tomorrow night, and it looks awful!
Raw started off the year with a bang! The opening match saw The Miz face John Morrison in a falls count anywhere match, which was spectacular! I had high hopes for this one, and it didn't disappoint. These 2 have incredible chemistry, and I hope it leads to more between the 2 of them. If you've read previous posts on here, you'll know that these are two of my favorites currently on the roster, and that I'm hopeful that they both get big pushes in 2011. Seeing Alberto Del Rio on Raw bothers me a little bit, only because I don't see the use of a brand extension if they're not exclusive to their brand! That being said, I thought he had a really good match with R-Truth. It's obvious that they have big plans for Del Rio heading forward. The triple threat cage match main event I thought was entertaining aswell. I thought the interferance by CM Punk came across well, and a good win for Orton. At least I know now it won't be Orton winning the Royal Rumble! It was a very entertaining show as the first Raw of 2011!
I thought this weeks episode of Smackdown was the best one I've seen in a long time! The opening match between Edge and Kane was fine. The sooner this feud ends the better in my opinion. This has gone stale in a big way. A 4-star match between Kofi and Dolph Ziggler was the highlight for me! Dolph Ziggler sells better than anybody currently working for WWE! Good things are gonna happen for both of these guys in the near future. Aparently not so distant into the future for Dolph! It was a pleasant surprise to see Dolph added to the #1 Contender Match. I realize getting a World title shot at the Royal Rumble isn't like getting one at Wrestlemania, but still, Dolph vs Edge is a match i'm looking forward to! Dolph has got everything he needs to succeed in the main event. I also thought the Rey Mysterio vs Alberto Del Rio 2 out of 3 falls match main event was a great end to their feud. Mysterio still looks strong, but Del Rio keeps shooting up the card.
It was nice to have 2 shows this week that feature young, new stars in feature roles. It's a lot more fun to talk about Miz, Morrison, Punk, Ziggler, Kofi, Del Rio, etc, than it is to talk about Cena, Orton, HHH, Edge, Kane, etc. There is still 3 shows each before the Royal Rumble, so I hope they keep the great momentum going!

Big C's Weekly Thoughts

Another good week in the wild world of wrestling! No PPV this week, so I will start with my thoughts on Raw. The more I think about it, the more optimistic I am about CM Punk leading Nexus. I think Punk will kinda take over for Jericho as the guy who can save all the faied angles. Atleast with Punk they have an established vetern to follow. I am still very much looking forward to see how this feud plays out. I think it's an interesting twist in the Miz vs Morrison feud by having them battle at next week's Raw. I just assumed this match would take place at the Royal Rumble. This helps my theory of Morrison winning the Royal Rumble, and facing The Miz at Wrestlemania. One can hope anyway(I wouldn't bet money on anyone other than HHH, Orton, or Cena)! Do you remember this time last year, when their was talk of feuding Ted Dibiase vs Randy Orton? It seemed as though Dibiase was lock to be groomed as a future main eventer. My, how things can change in a year! He jobbed this week to Santino Morella on Raw! I dunno if this is headed somewhere, but it has to be frustrating for a guy who was on his way up to hit the absolute bottom of the latter! Also, I'm not sure why they would have Tyson Kidd job to Mark Henry after he clames he's coming after the US Title! He just had a major change in his character, so he needs wins! Remeber years ago, when they broke up tag teams to further careers, and make stars? All things considered, it was a good Raw. I still have heavy interest in the major angles, and am very much looking forward to next week's show.
I actually caught most of Impact this week. What a load of crap! Again, I could go off all day about what buggs me about TNA, but that rant will come I promise! Most of the show was bassed on wheather or not a guy should wrestle with the head injuries he's had. I'm not huge on censoring, but this may not be the smartest subject to build an angle around. Is anyone in that company familiar with the story of a guy named CHRIS BENOIT?? The rest of the show was filled with nonsense. Eric Young & Orlando Jordan are horible! They're trying for a Booker T/Goldust esque odd couple team, and they just don't have the chemistry! The whole Double J MMA challenge bit has run it's course. I get it, you're building to a match with Kurt Angle. Everytime I watch an episode of Impact, I am less likely to buy a TNA PPV! I think they need to shake up the management/creative regime again!
I was able to watch Smackdown this week, and I am glad I did! It was a solid show from top to bottom. Dolph Ziggler is a main event talent! The guy has gone from being a cheerleader, to the guy who likes to shake hands, to being in a thrown together relationship with Vickie Guerrero, and he still manages to shine! He's got it all(look, ability, charisma, etc), and I think it's only a matter of time until he's elevated up the card. I am really enjoying the 3-way feud for the Intercontenental Title. 3 young stars competing for the chance to be the champion is what that title should be about! It was nice to see that match as the main event. I'm not sure how I feal about the Cody Rhodes vs Big Show feud. I'm happy to see Rhodes battle someone as established as the Big Show, but I see this heading to Show squashing Cody on tv next week. Hopefully their will be some kind of pay off for Cody.  The Edge/Mysterio vs Kane/Del Rio tag match was solid. I am very sick of the Edge vs Kane feud already, so I'm for a new direction soon. Smackdown is a little bit remimiscend of WCW in its prime. A tired main event, but a very good undercard. Overall though, this was a very enjoyable show. A good week for WWE programing all around!
